An Unexpected GNU/Linux Trend
TODAY I spent a considerable amount of time trying to locate past articles that mention the Sahel, including Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso. I was exceptionally surprised that I hadn't written about them and after more than enough time wasted (scanning the file system, browser history etc.) I decided to finally write about Burkina Faso. I thought I had already covered something to that effect because I kept checking data from there; in Burkina Faso and its neighbours GNU/Linux didn't quite "pick up" any sooner than this year.
And perhaps what it comes to show is, Burkina Faso is changing and not just politically. People adopt mobile devices (or more people go "on-line", albeit only with a mobile phone) and what's left on laptops and desktops isn't too keen on Windows.
Burkina Faso typically makes "the news" when there are acts of terrorism. It's not to be able to write about it in relation to something else. █
