Microsoft's Siege of Libya Coming to an End

Old map of Libya

May 2024: Libya: Windows Down From 99.7% to 65% (or 3.8% If Mobile Also Gets Counted), GNU/Linux Up to 5%, Android at 80%

Android has climbed some more this month, as did GNU/Linux: ("proper", not ChromeOS)

GNU/Linux Market Share Libya

Out of sheer curiosity one can also see Bing has fallen from 2% to 1% since the LLM hype began (Google is up from about 97% to nearly 99%). Among Windows users less than 1 in 5 uses Vista 11, whose share right now is about the same as one year ago. One might be tempted to guess the users deleted Windows and installed something else.

Remember that last month Microsoft killed off a "development centre" in Africa. Hours ago psydroid said in IRC that "they should close more development centres".
