Washington's WARN Site/Portal (That Excludes Many Microsoft Layoffs) is Now Down for Many Hours, Microsoft Causes Major Outages and Incidents Worldwide (Even Deaths)

The mass layoffs (lots of them in Azure since 2020) probably worsen resilience and security some more

Microsoft broke everything again. Perhaps among this chaos was a portal which provides an essential service and just times out since early in the day (even right now). They use Microsoft Outlook instead of E-mail, so it's easy to imagine it's a Windows shop.

WARN Down

Of course what's getting lots of media attention and the focal points are loads of cancelled flights (rich people's priorities; previously it was called just "IT Outage" and in other national broadcasters this was "being spun as a 'computer' problem rather than a specific fallout of Microsoft TCO," an associate tells). The deaths Microsoft is causing in hospitals only get mentioned without the much-needed attribution to Windows/Microsoft. Are they afraid that rightly blaming Microsoft for deaths would lead to SLAPP?

This is what happens when the media is not doing its job. "Windows TCO [goes] through the roof," psydroid said in IRC. "Unfortunately choosing Microsoft is done purely for ideological reasons and costs or convenience or security never ever factor into the decision making processes," an associate added.
