Facebook Finally Admits That It Censored Linux and Banned People for Mentioning It; statCounter Shows Rapid Growth for GNU/Linux in Southeast Asia
Seems like imperialism, not mere OS wars, with 'Colonel Kapo-berg' et al making lame and unbelievable excuses right now [1, 2] for censoring GNU/Linux (while admitting it's true) and even deleting critics of IBM.
Based on these latest numbers from Malaysia, not only Android but also iOS is growing bigger than Windows and GNU/Linux is getting larger, not even counting ChromeOS: (sign of the times!)
We also see GNU/Linux up sharply in Indonesia and as high as 8% in Singapore. In Maharlika (Philippines), ChromeOS is already up to 5% and GNU/Linux around 4%, making them a total of about 9%:
In Thailand, GNU/Linux grew to 4%. Those are just a few examples from the same region.
So GAFAM is losing its power, even if slowly (albeit consistently). Facebook now openly admits that it censored GNU/Linux (see latest update). What else can be expected from a top sponsor of the Linux Foundation, whose most dominant player is Microsoft? █
