Loads of People Exit IBM Tomorrow
December 4th (2025) is the "last day" (a nice-sounding dog whistle that means RAs, as in layoffs) of very many people at IBM. They stated so weeks ago. There are many comments being posted today about the "RAs" and even NDAs got a mention, along with chatbots being tossed at those impacted.
Way to slam the door on those who march or walk on.
It's also a nice metaphor for the state of IBM's slop ventures. No human touch and many mistakes ("hallucinations") along the way.
IBM has caused a lot of pain to many people and even whole families. As one who got paid off put it a week ago: (name omitted to spare him from any avoidable embarrassment):
Job searching is really tough. This is true regardless of where in you're career you are.I'm doing my best to keep a health perspective on being laid off, which is also hard to do sometimes. This weekend, though, my 2.5 y/o kiddo started kissing me and my wife on both cheeks as part of his bedtime routine. Heart = melted.
Yeah, I got laid off, but I have so much to be grateful for, including the knowledge that my next role is out there.
I'm looking for technical program/project manager or release manager roles primarily, but I'd love to see how I can bring value to your team. Let's talk!

Someone asked my why I'm still coming into the office even though I was laid off (we get a 30 day notice. Props to IBM for that).
"I'd be at home in my sweatpants being sad."
Do I come in because of a sense of responsibility? Yeah. For any potential face time with a hiring manager? Also yeah. Because I'm more productive at the office? For sure.
But the real reason?
"I don't have a job for you, but I DO have banana bread over at my desk."
Banana bread, dude??? At work, dude??? Hell yes.
Sounds a lot like this guy from Microsoft who made headlines some months ago:
Why work for a company with a revenue like that when it pays you nothing? That makes no sense at all. █
