Reminder: Slashdot Under New Ownership Does Not Promote Free Software (Sometimes it Sells Lies and Microsoft)
SOME years ago Slashdot changed hands again (the newer owner came to IRC, promising Techrights that things would improve and politely asking us to update our wiki accordingly). Years passed and then it took over Linux Journal, too. Slashdot is pushing Microsoft while demoting pro-GNU/Linux stories. As just noted, Mozilla does not protect privacy, but watch what Slashdot slid into the front page a few hours ago (screenshot below, annotated). Does the editor seriously think Mozilla is serious about privacy? That's just misleading and self-serving pandering.
Either way, a lot of the original Slashdot community moved to SoylentNews. Their editorial decisions are vastly better. So are the comments. █
