In the 'Phoronix Universe', Single Job Openings at AMD Are News, But Not ~400 Layoffs

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Nov 26, 2023

On October 25th (i.e. a month ago) we published a page entitled "Phoronix Publishes AMD Job Ads, Even for a Single Role, Yet Refuses to Even Mention the Latest AMD Layoffs"

A month has passed. Did Phoronix catch up with the news?

Recently:

AMD Rumored To Lay Off Around 400 Workers In China

Search for AMD layoffs in Phoronix:

AMD layoffs

Hiring? Well, Phoronix is like a classifieds section, treating every single open position like very important news:

AMD Is Currently Hiring More Linux Engineers

THE bias at Phoronix can be explained by tracing back the incentives, which corrupt or invalidate objectivity.

We don't really want to 'bash' Phoronix in isolation (CNX posted loads of Windows/Microsoft spam lately), but this helps make a point about the Web in general. This past week it was a pile of splogs and spamfarms due to Black Friday. The following was bumped up again yesterday.

Email me at michael@phoronix.com with any questions. I'm always happy to entertain corporate subscriptions or similar as well. Thanks for your support consideration and happy holidays
