we are the law
This is going to be somewhat rant-y.
I’ll hopefully get something longer written about this at some point, but for now a brief post will have to do.
I struggle a lot with finding satisfaction in...things. I have to be careful, because at least some of this is biochemical, and it’s easy to find something that would make sense as a cause and assume that it’s actually the cause (as opposed to the aforementioned biochemical difficulties).
With that said, I have difficulty finding enjoyment in my career as a lawyer. The more experience I’ve gotten the less I’ve enjoyed it, although I have to include the caveat that I haven’t been able to go in the direction that I necessarily would’ve wanted.

WotC sociopolitical?
I see it more as it catching up with normal society (and they are many years behind Paizo, Green Ronin etc in this regard).
D&D used to be pretty extreme. Everyone is hetero and everyone is racially segregated. And Gygax views on Chivington etc were outliers even for his era.

Trying to figure out *where* I - and others - have replied to *who* about *what*
I ask, because I'm finding that without keeping track of what I've replied to, and who replied to me, I've a heck of a time trying to figure out *where* I've replied to *who* about *what*.
The "new replies" notification that appears at the top of the main Midnight Pub page is slightly in that direction, except that as soon as I reply to a reply, that notification is gone, so unless I manually saved a link to what I replied to, I've no idea what post/reply I replied to.

Barred owls
Evy let me sleep yesterday. I was so tired. She was incredible, rapidly pulling together a panel with our friends, one freshly back from working in a hospital in Gaza, the other freshly back from doing humanitarian relief with ethnically cleaned Gazans in Cairo. It was last night, nightmare material.

Tonight I rode my 1970s Schwinn Varsity road bike on trails through the woods to bugz' house for the party. It handled just fine on rough and gravel ground. I came upon 2 barred rock owls standing on the ground, beaks touching. As I approached enroute to bugz', they swiveled their heads, looked at me, and took off. All big wings and majesty, they think slowly, but long.

Reliant
Coming up on the end of week six of eight in my current term at school and we had to turn in an interim milestone for our final project in my Python course. The assignment was to build a text based adventure game. I thought I'd go a little above and beyond and add in some ascii art, throw in a few Easter eggs and be a nerdy old Trekkie.

Lagrange: how to add an additional WWW search engine with snippets
This is something cool that I recently stepped into by accident and for which I don't have any credit, but for the sake of the good Cage I decided to write down my discovery so him, and others, can read about it.

Minimal Impact Youtube
Using Youtube is a nightmare for me for a number of reasons; the recomendations are designed to serve you addictive nonsense, the creators are incentivised to create that nonsense, and advertisements are a hell of their own.
I did fight this with the likes of ad-blockers or by using privacy respecting frontends like Invidious. Recently though I have nearly completely fallen off using YT in favour of text or audio based alternatives. Even visiting the most bloated websites or listening to hours of an audio stream are going to have a smaller data footprint than a 10 minute video. This method also allows you to avoid the algorithms, the time sucking videos and the advertisements.
