Topics to Cover (Including Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and Encryption)
TODAY we carry on with videos and we're preparing long-form PDFs in tandem. This coming week we expect to be more productive than last. The sister site ought to be a tad faster and here in Techrights we've improved a number of things in IRC. Some time soon we'll attempt a server (ircd
) upgrade as today, 28th of July, is the last day the server is at risk of downtime (maintenance work from 01:00 until 05:00 GMT, i.e. 5 minutes from now).
There has hardly been press coverage about KOSA lately. The EFF has hardly spoken about it in months [1, 2] and we heard complaints about this. What's more, as an associate explains: "There a big political push, actually several, in the EU against any kind of encryption. Also that's happening outside the EU. It's pushed by politicians who don't know anything about banking or math etc."
We'll try to cover those topics every now and then, seeing that coverage of patent issues dried up (everywhere!) in recent years. █
