Patents Against Energy Sources That Reduce Pollution
THE OTHER day the Microsoft- and Bill Gates-funded "news" site NPR said that "Tesla won the plug war. Enter the age of the EV charging adapter" (seems like marketing, not reporting).
"I smell, but cannot see," an associate said, "software patents there."
"NPR fastidiously avoids even mentioning patents in general let alone risking offending [its big] sponsor [Bill] Gates by naming software patents explicitly," he added. Remember the history of patent litigation in this area [1, 2] and pseudo-geeky PR stunts from Musk, using old video game memes and buzzwords. Some law firms did propaganda about this. There's also this old article from Benjamin M. Hill (former FSF board members):
Whose idea was it to perpetuate the term "Intellectual Property"? "Journal of Intellectual [sic] Property [sic] Law"?
Either way, this EV space (not just charging) is a patent mine field and it has long been that way. It's a famous example wherein adoption of less polluting energy sources is restricted by the supposed "innovation" they said patent would bring about. All they give us is more smog and crazier weather pattern/cycles. █
