IBM Going International (and India)
Based on new activity in thelayoff.com
, IBM isn't waiting until spring. The managers made their plans known (the CEO talked about layoffs last month) and also put staff on notice or threw some PIPs their way. It's not only in north America; European workers are also "E" (as in, "expensive"):
That was a few hours ago. 2 hours earlier:
IBM is going "I" (inexpensive, not international):
Same time as the above. It's Monday and a national holiday (President's Day).
Cheapening one's workforce might lessen expenses and make income/profit look good, but that comes at a long-term cost. "Goodwill" at IBM isn't really worth over 60 billion dollars. That's just fantasy. █
