A World Without Rules
Next week we'll write more about the OSI and maybe the EPO, too. The OSI's bylaws are contradicted by reality and there's moreover a complaint about the OSI breaching laws. It was reported to the California Privacy Protection Agency. In the case of the EPO, it's operating in violation of its own charter every day.
The Rule of Law and proper application of law may matter more than ever with people like MElon and MarcUS punishing political opponents or buying elections in clear violation of laws and norms.
We're long insisted on better laws and actual enforcement of them (applicable to all, not selectively applied). When people breach protocols (and sometimes law firms do this too), we'll write about that. Just because the EPO talks of the "law" and some firms have "law" in their name doesn't mean they don't break the law. β
