People who say that X is doomed or dead or whatever are likely just parroting LLM slop [1, 2] they saw online, perpetrated and perpetuated by IBM et al to make people feel like they must adopt Wayland or else!
X components are still actively developed (many people use them and rely on these) and changes are being pushed to master after a fair deal of housekeeping, which is perfectly normal and totally not crazy or insane. █
