Reminder: We're Unloading Some Publications to Tux Machines
Last week we explained the reasons why we publish more original stories in Tux Machines and those who follow this site via RSS (syndication feed, miles better than social control media) should also consider adding the RSS feed of Tux Machines. Neither site has any traffic issues; this one served 400,000+ Web hits yesterday and serves over half a million gemini://
hits per week, but some readers say we publish too much and/or too fast. They find it hard to cope/catch up. We created these pages to help them cope (after they had asked for such a thing), but I find it easy to publish over 20 pages/articles per day without quite realising how it impacts the reader.
About 15 years ago I was struggling to keep up with TechDirt, so I can recall and relate. It wrote many very good articles, mostly by the founder, Mike. There was a lot of focus on copyrights, not politics, and the occasional post about patents. There could be 15 or more such articles each day (the SLAPP by Shiva Ayyadurai slowed him down a bit). Since then he has gotten more people involved and some of them express positions (or views) we deem ludicrous. Then there's this: (from this week)
"Mike should know better," an associate said. He referred to Mr. Masnick of TechDirt.
Too focused on trying to make money, Mike compromised the integrity of the site. We wrote about this before, citing similar examples. █
