2025 - a year in review at Sava.Rocks
As 2025 draws to a close, I like to pause for a moment and reflect on what this year has meant for Sava.Rocks: the experiments, the little wins, the unexpected detours, and those times when a small piece of tech brought a bit of joy or calm.
2025 was a fairly busy year with 20 blog posts, a lot of updates to my docker swarm, some new simple CGI scripts.

Those earbuds are doing well
It's been exactly six months. It's been going well and I can do a little reflecting on my time with them.
In my original post, I wondered if I would get used to the feeling of these earbuds in my ears. The answer is yes, and my pinnae no longer feel sore from wearing these.
One interesting consequence, though, is that the right earbud always ends up a bit wonky from how I wear it. These earbuds have replaceable silicone fins, intended to keep it secure while I wear them. However, when I pull my earbuds out, the left one's fin is in place as expected, but the right one tends to end up a bit crooked. I notice that I tend to have to push and twist harder to get the right earbud to seal properly, so I'm guessing that's probably why. I guess my ears are a bit asymmetrical.

offline-centric use of smartphones
Really enjoyed a couple posts over in gopherspace that I thought I'd share. The first is a post that just details this person's offline-centric use of smartphones, which I found inspiring. Many off the applications were new or fresh-feeling to me (apps to ease the process of getting/browsing wikis and technical documentation, apps for offline navigation, etc), and I enjoyed imagining making using of them.

Connect your Gemini browser over Lora with Reticulum.
The new version of RetiGemiProxy compress data, server made the redirect instead of client (more speed), Public Server availlable without certificated, Private server with certificated, multiples connections on the server.
