LLM Slop About Linux Still Seems Scarce
LLMs aren't dead, but metrics published online say that their usage is fast declining.
In terms of LLM slop, we've noticed a real decrease. Right now the Serial Slopper (who uses LLMs to attack Linux journalism) helps those who are preying on the Linux brand to promote slop. A lot of the promotions of the latest Linux Foundation scam are coming from slopfarms; perhaps not shockingly, slop gets promoted by slop. They eat their "dogfood".
But anyway, aside from that, we've only found one example of slop about Linux yesterday and today:
Don't be misled by the site's name. This site was turned into a slopfarm by Slashdot Media, which had bought it.
Another "Linux" site turned into a spamfarm. This was 1-2 days ago:
Maybe it was not made by LLMs, but it is definitely spam and other than this spam this site has had no other input for months already.
Glancing at Google News, "linux" searches yield only one pair of slopfarms today.
This network of slop may have lost it slop image supplier, at least temporarily:
Notice the lack of an image (many slop suppliers shut down for good or start charging money as they lack a business model), unlike the twin slopfarm:
All in all, we simply don't have enough to do Slopwatch. That is a good thing. █
