Microsoft is Waning Like IBM
19 hours ago by BI's Vartika Puranik

There are lots of former IBMers out there. IBM has employed over a million people over the years or 11 decades, so people who have (or had) "IBM" in their CV typically moved to some other companies. IBM was shrinking and becoming less relevant.
One example of IBMers is Novell's last CEO. Another is AMD's current CEO. There are countless others (IBM is everywhere because of its long history).
There are many articles there days (new example above) of people who lose their job at Microsoft. As recently as days ago we still saw many articles about mass layoffs at Microsoft (which frames these as "buyouts").
As usual, this poses a risk and presents a serious problem - hardly a new one but a growing one. Many people from Microsoft bring the "Microsoft mindset" to other companies, including Microsoft software.
In GNU/Linux, we see new companies formed to besiege us - companies created and run only by Microsofters.
It's just something to bear in mind. There will be lots of "ex Softies" or "former Microsofters" out there. The layoffs guarantee that. █
