Richard Stallman's (RMS) personal site was started almost 3 decades ago and the Wayback Machine has an early snapshot dating back to one week before schools opened in 2000, not too long after the dotcom bubble had burst. It looked like this:
Back then RMS was a man in his mid or late 40s and Linux (the kernel) was less than a decade old (it turns 35 next month). Notice that he already spoke a lot about politics. █
