Steven Vaughan-Nichols (SJVN) began using slop about a year ago. We wrote about this in passing. The majority of the images at the front page of his blog are slop (right now).
Like colleagues in this industry, they lower their standards and resort to slop. Sometimes they write real articles when the paymaster (e.g. Linux Foundation) needs a hit piece - one that serves as a distraction. █
