PIP/GVSA at Microsoft: Mass Layoffs Disguised as Something Else
"Should we call this period The Great Reshuffle?" somebody wrote. "I see a lot of companies laying off their current workforce and hiring from other companies to shake up the status quo. Microsoft and Google have laid off recently and hired a ton from Meta. Some teams at Microsoft now are all ex-Meta employees. Same with Google. Do you see this trend at your companies as well?"
From what we can tell, there is nepotism (we mentioned it last night) as a "survival strategy" and definitely lots of mass layoffs going on, but those are disguised as 'voluntary' or 'retirement' or 'moving on' (after being put on a PIP):

Microsoft is trying to cheapen the workforce because the numbers don't add up. The company ends up deep in debt like its minions. █
