Microsoft's business partners at Gartner have some new output [via] that was composed by Microsoft's ally Michael Silver. As IDG puts it, Gartner is pretending that desktops -- not Microsoft -- are going away and that with Vista 8 Microsoft is not positioned to be well behind, like it is now, when it comes to mobile devices.

This may be considered an example where negative headlines act as bait for pro-Microsoft messages. IDG/IDC has also been instrumental in this. ⬆
