THE LONGTIME readers of this site need no introduction to Free software. They already know that it's about freedom, not cost-related aspects. They also know that GNU is widely deployed (billions of devices) and its licence, the GPL, is quite likely still the most widely chosen/used. It's almost impossible to count and quantify that, for reasons explained in the video above. Reciprocal licences are popular in spite of all the corporate propaganda against them (corporations like to take, but not reciprocate).
"Please be kind and do understand that Rowe's intentions are good."At the moment the FSF is being distracted by a bunch of corporate coups and corporate media spreading hostile 'information' (from sites like ZDNet, a de facto propaganda operation of Microsoft, IBM, and the so-called 'Linux' Foundation).
Some time soon the Save GNU site (savegnu.org
) will launch and its objectives need to be explained. Unlike the GNU coup (trying to hijack the brand "GNU"), this one is very supportive of the FSF, which is 36 years told. Rowe seems eager to talk about her vision. Please be kind and do understand that Rowe's intentions are good. She has been very supportive of Richard Stallman and of this Web site. You can join us in IRC to discuss further. ⬆
