    • gradient hues...

what is your favorite color and why? mine are purple, blue and pink. there's something about the combination that makes my heart soft. especially when the sky is cotton candy colored early in the morning!

    • Good morning, Geminam!

Imagine an illusion imagining it can dis-illusion itself, aka become "enlightened".

Thus is ego's hilariously sad plight.

Ego is the very pinnacle of of endarkenment. There ain't no enlightenment happening there, just futile variations on the theme of Look At Me Being Spiritual.

  • Politics

    • A Recommendation: Future Histories Podcast

The Future Histories podcast is a podcast about current and future socioeconomic problems and ways to solve them. Because it‘s made by and with people from social sciences and academia in general, it is by nature politically left-leaning. But it also means, it‘s not just a bunch of people with strong opinions trying to create ad revenue.

  • Technical

    • Technology in My Dreams

Axxuy commented recently^ that computers appear quite infrequently in their dreams, despite the fact that they use computers all the time in waking life. Upon reading Axxuy's observation, I was suddenly made aware that computers are rare in my dreams as well. In particular, desktop and laptop computers seemingly don't exist in my dreamscapes.

Technology in general is quite prevalent, from cars to planes to modern buildings, but I find that in my dreams, these items are not digitized. Automobiles have big old-fashioned steering wheels and analog speedometers. The interiors of aircraft have cable-driven flight controls and mechanical dials for indicators. In the rare instances when smartphones and video game consoles appear, they primarily manifest for purposes of aesthetic, or in the case of phones, only to allow me to place a call.

    • Internet/Gemini

      • On Perspective

An outside perspective on the Gemini spec is the hot topic this week.

        [...]

I think a lot of the response from Gemini advocates can be summarized as “working as intended”, which is fine; it’s still useful to have the surprising nature of the spec highlighted. Gemini is limited by design.

The points on the vague parts of the spec are well made and well taken.

I’m not sure if I count as part of “the community” yet, but, hey, I have a capsule, I have an opinion! So here goes. I think that as a community we need to accept that the state of the spec is a weakness; the fact that there is no clear path to iterating on it to improve accuracy and clarity is not ideal.

      • Bubble v3.0: Thanks and Reactions, Private Mode, Improved Issue Trackers

I have updated geminispace.org to Bubble v3.0. There has been lots of progress in many different areas.
