When Power is Scarce and GNU/Linux Has Power

GNU/Linux is generally - on average, so to speak - more energy-efficient than Windows (few would dispute this) and since GNU/Linux has lower hardware requirements than any version of Windows since the 1990s (GNU/Linux comes in many forms) it makes sense to adopt it where production, consumption, and extraction come to a standstill.
In Cuba, GNU/Linux has long enjoyed high adoption rates, more so in recent years. Despite blackouts, many GNU/Linux users in Cuba still show up online. Some sites based in Cuba go offline because datacentres have capacity issues; we may soon experience similar issues in richer countries. █
