Attacking by Credentials
Modest people do not demand fancy titles
I recently became aware of a lousy psychological tactic of "cancer culture" (or "cancel culture"). It is an extension of ad hominem (to the person, to the messenger) attacks, but it smacks of another 'aroma'. Sadly, the world is full of charlatans and frauds who make up credentials and supposed achievements; anyone who refutes/doubts/disproves these bogus credentials and phony achievements is then subjected to nasty attacks, insinuating anything from support for rape to actual rape.
My position on boastful people has long been the same; over-extravagance is the hallmark of insecurity because people whose track record speaks for itself (and is easily verifiable using publicly accessible evidence) don't need to write fancy CVs, bios etc.
So to me, the rule of thumb is, people who make a ton of noise about their supposed importance are probably not important. They make up with words for a lack of deeds, or so they think anyway.
The world needs sincere people, not people who hide being masks, sockpuppets, and fake clicks. █
