Update on IBM Layoffs Wave
IBM sends many roles abroad to lower the salariesAside from the China layoffs (over 1,000 workers discarded last Monday), and ignoring the media noise about Intel and "hey hi" (AI), there's this rumour about ongoing layoffs or another wave starting this week.
This is hours old:
It's difficult to assess how those waves of layoffs impact Red Hat, but if they lay off slowly enough, they don't need to formally report to anybody. IBM has long used this HR trick for PR purposes. Microsoft does the same; many people are unaware that it has had mass layoffs every month this year. Yes, every month. There are loopholes in WARN Act.
Example from Washington:
No update in a month. How come?
Does that mean there have been no layoffs in Washington for 4 weeks already?
This is what happens when corporate power governs the country (not the other way around). Everyone is kept in the dark and they say the economy is doing OK (they don't say that around 2 million job openings which are advertised are in fact fake). █
