The Risk to the "Linux" Brand
Last month: Pushing Nonsense Using the Brand "Linux"
Earlier this week the Linux Foundation was ruining the brand Linux by yet again associating it with Bill Gates [1, 2], so it certainly does not seem like it cares about the brand "Linux". Hours ago we saw the Linux Foundation fronting for Microsoft and Microsofters once again:
Co-founded by ABB/B&R, Capgemini, Microsoft....
Jim Zemlin et al certainly know how GNU/Linux users feel about Microsoft and Microsoft's Capgemini, but they just don't care because their clients (and whoever they represent) are Microsoft and GAFAM, not GNU/Linux users.
Last but not least, yesterday there was this article from an Odessa (Ukraine) site:
Well, he has nothing to do with Linux (the kernel), but this one isn't wearing a dress; however, that adds a war connotation to "Linux".
Brands that are not guarded from misuse/abuse will inevitably lose their original meaning and their value. █
