Pocock Running for Office Again
Yesterday Daniel Pocock published 3 articles about politics. I already knew (and had known for a while) that he would run for public office again. Pocock dealt with all sorts of 'politics' in Free software and, unlike many politicians, he has a background in science and technology.
Pocock told me some time ago: "Lots of people want me to run again. I received emails from all over Ireland from people who said their local TD is so bad they want an Australian to move into their village. I haven't decided which constituency to contest."
Well, now we know (see screenshot above).
"During the MEP campaign they did the WIPO attack," he added. He was referring to the people whom he had exposed (and who then looked for "revenge"). "The MEP campaign was mostly a surprise for them."
"They know the Irish elections are coming now and the Australian elections are coming next year so they won't be surprised again. They probably already have various tactics rehearsed. They routinely pull strings, lie, threaten and blackmail sysadmins to get rival policy discussions suppressed."
We've long said that dirty attacks are a sign of weakness. Last month 3 people connected to Microsoft attacked us (in vain, to no avail). That merely served to reaffirm the value of our work. We must be doing a lot of real damage to Microsoft. Sadly for them, these attacks will only do further damage to Microsoft. Because we'll write about these in the future. █
