More IBM Layoffs (2025)
THE above thread was posted yesterday with a date that's 2 months in the future: March 10th.
Rumour? Maybe. But seems very plausible.
According to this, IBM carries on using R.T.O. as a dodge. It wants many employees to resign without severance obligations invoked. As explained before, people with a spouse and children cannot just relocate at a whim. Some have a mortgage (on a particular home in a particulate location) and some have always worked from home.
IBM is being scattered away, yet the media barely covers it. It'll just happen "silently" over time. There's another new thread about the work atmosphere. Just like at Microsoft, based on what we heard, there are no longer parties or significant spendings on staff.
The thread speaks of a lack of "Christmas party 2024", stating: "Group Christmas party was the norm at IBM when I worked there. People would bring in food and management covered the main course. Does this still occur?"
