Let's Hope Slopwatch Has Become Obsolete
Earlier this year we had Slopwatch almost every day, sometimes twice a day.
Lately, however, and not just because of the US holiday (also predating it [1, 2]; we noticed this a week before it began), we could hardly find enough examples of "Linux" slop to do another Slopwatch. To be clear, it's not that Google - or Google News for that matter - successfully and belatedly culled slopfarms; even sites we regularly monitor (e.g. for slop) weren't active or weren't producing slop.
If the "AI" (slop) bubble is silently bursting, or if slopfarms have come to accept they have no viable future, then that is a big thing! It'll not only be good for the Web but also for people who regularly cover GNU/Linux.
Numerically, I'd estimate that the volume of slop fell by more than half last month. █
