Getting Positive Feedback Loops?
Cycles of panic/time-wasting
"Positive feedback (exacerbating feedback, self-reinforcing feedback) is a process that occurs in a feedback loop which exacerbates the effects of a small disturbance," as Wikipedia puts it (we do not endorse Wikipedia; it got a helluva lot worse in recent years!).
Recently we got some positive feedback for our work in this site (even some high-profile people and sites congratulated us), but positive feedback loops aren't quite the same. They can be very negative. We've moreover come under attacks from a number of familiar and unfamiliar sources, resorting to all sort of nefarious tactics/methods. Their goal is clear: they want to squash us. Will they succeed? That's extremely improbable.
Mentally tiring one's opposition is a textbook example of this, causing a loop of despair and demotivation. In our case, the opposite has happened because that serves to validate our work and gets more people involved, including more sources and contributors.
I left my job when I was 40 and finally managed to invest a lot more time in this site and its migration to more independent hosting, with neither conditions nor veiled limitations. In the coming days we'll have some exclusive new stories to expose. █
