SoylentNews Isn't Failing, It Is Being Sabotaged by Very Aggressive Trolls

THE situation at SoylentNews was covered here last week as they had been subjected to aggressive trolling in IRC and in the site. Some key people from SoylentNews came over to our network and told us more about it.
There's no doubt about the malicious vandalism; hours ago a horrible troll who attacks people in IRC said: "More's the pity. Lack of governance will end SoylentNews."
That was in the #governance IRC channel. The modus operandi seems to be, attack, harass and intimidate people to the point many stay 'offline'/'afk' and it becomes hard if not unbearable to conduct Governance Committee meetings.
These tactics are familiar to us, so we shall be keeping an eye and report what we can. SoylentNews is a very important hub for news and discussion of news. It's not hard to imagine who would wish to undermine it and even take if offline by exhausting, demoralising and blackmailing unpaid volunteers.
