Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) is Once Again Selling Verbal Thank-Yous to Wealthy, Large Corporations
Like in past years
Have a look at this new PDF. Like the Linux Foundation, and just like in past years, the Software Freedom Conservancy is literally selling thank-yous. It's an unethical, misleading practice. It's designed to benefit the rich while marginalising the poor. It's a bit like politicians' "dinner access".
That's page/slide 5. Here's the blog post about it:
Please help us make the event a success by sponsoring at one of our tree themed tiers (Giant Sequoia, Redwood, Douglas Fir) or by providing coffee, transit, or A/V. If you or your organization would like more information here is our sponsorship prospectus or you can contact us at conference@sfconservancy.org for more information.
"Please help us make the event a success by sponsoring" at a level no Free software developer can. Companies like Microsoft can ("slush funds") and they did in the past pay the Software Freedom Conservancy. █
