Harassing People on Holiday
There are "no-go areas"; but that assumes all laws firms have ethical standards (too optimistic an assumption)
It has been years since we last went on holiday, but this time we'll celebrate and not let Microsoft ruin our plans. Just because a violent Microsoft employee in the US went on a strangling rampage against women in the US doesn't mean people in the UK, who merely mentioned what happened in the US, cannot take some rest.
We've meanwhile noticed that the people who harass and bully us since February 2024 are having problems. The staff is still fleeing. Women in particular seem to be fleeing. Maybe they realise that helping misogynists attack women (including my wife) isn't a woman's job. It looks like someone else has just resigned or expressed an intention of resignation ("handed in notice" is the term used here). It says (today): "Full time; immediate start, competitive salary."
This vacancy isn't there because of growth; this law firm had virtually no litigation in the media department this year (the sole case seems stalled). Several women already left the firm weeks ago. 72% of the tangible assets got sold, probably in order to raise some money for salaries.
Seeing what's happening there is a nice holiday gift for Rianne, a harmless person who is among their victims (maybe they envy her uncompromising support of animals and animal charities; maybe they just dislike women, which seems plausible given what we've seen). It seems apparent that another person in their "media" team handed in his/her notice (probably her, but we never name their staff, in respect to their privacy) and they're now tentatively understaffed, with several unoccupied roles pending replacements being found (which will be difficult, not just for financial reasons). Taking a Serial Strangler from Microsoft and chaining that with a Serial Harasser [1, 2] was a huge mistake. Abusive litigation can cause any firm to lose its licence to operate. Courts are not circuses for "funny" spectacles. █
