statCounter's Numbers Make Sense Given Microsoft's Falling Windows/Client Revenue
Days ago: Microsoft's Debt Surged by More Than 6,000,000,000 Dollars in Just 3 Months
The vortex of fake (prepared in advance) articles or puff pieces helped disguise what Microsoft did not want shareholders to see. On the client side (not servers/services), Microsoft is in rapid collapse. Heck, despite buying the biggest studio there are loads of layoffs and "business" continues to go down. Here are some of the headlines or 'tidbits' most people couldn't find last week: (this is from a pro-Microsoft site)
There are already articles (some of them published last week) saying that XBox should just be ended. It has no prospects of becoming profitable.
Even Microsoft boosting sites dared admit that "Xbox Q2 FY25 gaming revenue is down 7%", adding some spin to that. Other publishers were not as 'generous'. See for example:
- Xbox Q2 hardware sales down 29% as Game Pass experiences record growth
- Xbox hardware sales slump, but Game Pass is surging
- Microsoft says its revenue dropped by 7% in its Q2 2025 earnings while Xbox hardware sales dropped by 29%
- Xbox revenue down by 7% for Q2
- Xbox Revenue Falls 7% Year-on-Year, Hardware Revenue Drops 29% - Sales
- Xbox Game Pass growth flops over Christmas as console sales plummet
- Xbox hardware revenue fell 29% in Q2 FY25
- Xbox hardware sales plummet but Game Pass hits new records
- Stalling Xbox Series X/S Sales Has Caused Revenue Drop For Microsoft
It's the same with so-called 'PCs' (Windows). Even months ago the media said that the "HEY HI PCs" failed; adding pluses to "copilot" and adding an extra key to keyboards didn't help. █
