Microsoft's Serial Strangler Chose to Attack Techrights With SLAPP When Over 400 Victims of Mohamed Al Fayed Complained About Media's Role in Enabling Him
One curious aspect of the timing of the SLAPP (there's more to come; this aspect is rich) will be explained in relation to another SLAPP and in relation to the general news. What's very important is the timing due to causality; it was a response to the first SLAPP backfiring [1, 2] and it coincided with news like in [1-3]. (Below)
There is a strong element of "free press" here, notably its role in protecting women from predators.
Basically, the American Microsofters want us to think that the issue isn't Microsoft staff strangling women but bloggers who mention Microsoft staff strangling women (and even bigger scandals).
As mentioned in recent days (e.g. [1, 2]), it would be obscene to suggest the "right thing" to do is to cover up for violent and dangerous men.
No, thank you.
"I would argue without hesitation that with his lawyer," I explained at the time, "MJG's lawyer of choice - is like protectors and facilitators of Al-Fayed, who kept the victims quiet out of fear and that fear served to enable up to 400 victims piling up over time (421 known victims, 25 of whom are witnesses). I should strongly stress that the women victims are not "My Client" to the lawyer, but what about them? Are they not human beings too? Is sexual violence against women OK? Must it not be reported by anybody, based on solid evidence provided by the police?"
We'll revisit it again some time in the future. There's a lot more to be said about it and what's really at stake (for society at large).
Remember that what we did here is protected on many levels and this is about someone reporting in the UK about what Microsoft staff did in another continent!
Had the media (or "press") done its job, Al-Fayed would be punished when still alive and many people would not have to suffer (Al-Fayed belonged behind bars, where his deeds would not be possible).
Lots of people knew what Al-Fayed was doing. But they kept quiet. They kept docile to keep getting paid by Al-Fayed.
Similarly, friends of Microsoft's Serial Strangler (Miguel de Icaza) knew he was a bad person. We published evidence of it.
"Here it is in yesterday's news," I wrote at the time. It's kind of ironic that the Serial Strangler chose to attack me on the same week the media was filled with news about Al-Fayed. Maybe his family could use some "reputation management" services now.
We've noticed that the poor "guns for fire", who cannot refer to women by their real name, object to any mention of religions. In the future we'll show some insensitivities related to that. Heck, perhaps those "guns for fire" are antisemitic, but we'd have to show evidence. We believe we have some, but that's a different subject.
The lawyer who does all the SLAPPing against us has a Muslim name, but that's not the point; it's just impossible to ignore the fact that the lawyer acting for the Microsofters (with Microsoft money) is acting against women and the religious stigma isn't baseless. Maybe he even thinks that these women deserve this. Hopefully not. Has he no shame? Is this what he earned a law degree for?
There are many more important aspects to be covered about this. This is all factual. It's a growing issue - a priority for us to cover as longtime proponent of media freedom and women's right. █
