Soylent News Editor Stays, Trolls Leave Instead
At the beginning of this month a key person - and editor - at Soylent News said he was resigning and we immediately responded to this, arguing he was likely "being manipulated by bad faith actors" because everybody I spoke to likes him and trusts him.
Some of us asked him not to resign but pause and reconsider.
Looking right now at the front page of the site, the Soylent Newsers who relay stories include at least 5 of his. This means he's still onboard and the harassment against him hasn't worked (they've been doing that for well over a year! [1,2,3]).
In our own IRC we have some folks from that fine site and some of our own routinely link to SoylentNews.org - that means the reach of their stories goes beyond the Web requests, which are more immediately visible.
This site has a positive impact. Keep at it.
The best way to follow SoylentNews.org is via Atom and RSS. █
