Techrights Will Always Stand for Women's Rights
The quality of life will improve for all if women are treated like human beings, not objects
The words "Women's Rights" almost got a bad name, mostly due to chauvinistic sites/groups/circles that throw around words like "feminazi". They try to call feminists "radicals", typically for just exercising the right to vote or insisting on equality in the workplace.
It would be extremely difficult to argue that Techrights - or even me personally - rejects or questions "Women's Rights" (one of many labels); it would be hard to produce any real evidence of that.
Apropos women's rights, earlier this week Dr. Stallman (RMS) wrote this in his political notes:
RMS knows from personal experience it's far to easy to falsely accuse men of all sorts of things, even based on guesses about what certain men think inside their heads (i.e. intentional misconceptions/misrepresentations).
The Web site stallmansupport.org has entire sections devoted to debunking the idea that RMS is against women. Around 16 years ago they decided to try to twist his joke about "emacs virgins" based on two misconceptions: 1) that virginity is about sex (a virgin can be a British company or even someone who never experienced some particular computer programs, by way of metaphor); 2) only women can be virgins.
Hours ago we explained how RMS had been subjected to many other such distortions of his views.
Right now we have 3 lawsuits [1, 2] in support of women attacked by crazy men. We even invest money - personal savings that it - in our principles, whereas some profit from attacking poor women. █
