THE partly Microsoft-owned Facebook has been a subject of concern because of its patents, granted quite foolishly by the USPTO. Ever since it went public (IPO) Facebook has lost a lot of its value and one day it might use those patents just like Yahoo! does (against Facebook). The British press lets us know about a rather outrageous new patent:
Mark Zuckerberg cares about your Facebook privacy settings. He cares about them so much, in fact, that he's patented a method of finding out what they are.
The patent, number 8,225,376, was filed six years ago but only approved last week, and is attributed to Zuckerberg and former Facebook chief privacy officer Chris Kelly.
