Summary: Tim Yeaton leaves Black Duck

THERE is some good news on the FOSS front, signalling reduced levels of FUD. Black Duck, which is somewhat of a Microsoft proxy (not just a close partner), lost its original head (and founder, who had come from Microsoft), 6 years ago.€ Now its later head is leaving, going back to his former employer.

As OStatic put it, "Now, Red Hat has announced that a well-known open source leader has rejoined its ranks to help drive these cloud-focused efforts. The company has announced that Tim Yeaton, former chief executive officer of Black Duck Software and a onetime Red Hat executive, has rejoined Red Hat in the newly-created position of senior vice president, Infrastructure Group."

Black Duck must be having a hard time.

Other Microsoft-tied FUD entities, notably OpenLogic, have been mostly off the radar for many months. Hopefully their business model (which is based on scaring FOSS users) is failing. ⬆
