President-elect Biden is Already Being Shifted... to the Right

Excerpt of 1:30 to 1:40 here

Summary: The next presidency in the United States will be neither a friend of freedom nor a friend of software freedom

THIS site isn't as political as it is technical, but the political aspects keep creeping in and they undermine Free software. See what happened last month (Microsoft using GitHub to censor a Free software project because the RIAA, a Microsoft ally, asked for it).

These problems aren't going away. Microsoft went further and threatened users who create mirrors of the project (not the first to be facing such Microsoft censorship by the way) and Microsoft's proximity to Biden overlaps Biden's personal proximity to the MPAA and RIAA. It's quite a power grab and it won't be opposed by a President Biden. We've just spotted this article from yesterday (its author is very credible and has deep understanding of these issues). Here's the gist:

Progressives Tell Biden: Don't 'Cooperate' With McConnell in Choosing Cabinet

It was Mr. McConnell who called Julian Assange "high-tech terrorist" (for exposing US war crimes) -- a characterisation that Biden partly sided with when he was asked about it.

"He's better than Trump and to the left of Trump, sure, but we don't expect a particularly bright future."Given the strong and growing relationship between Biden and Bush (who congratulated Biden some days ago) one starts to wonder what kind of president was elected. He's better than Trump and to the left of Trump, sure, but we don't expect a particularly bright future.
