Slow tools are infuriating
At pretty much every job I've ever held, I've had to use at least one Atlassian tool. In every case, I've used Jira. In some cases, I've used Confluence. In all cases, these tools were abysmal and shockingly slow. I've been in pretty much constant employment for the last 9 years, and things have only got worse. Confluence is particularly heinous, requiring multiple seconds to load what should realistically be nothing more than text.
The latest casualty is GitHub. I've used GitHub for open source contrubutions for years, alongside Gitlab. Gitlab was always a much heavier beast, but it had its appeal for open source. GitHub managed, despite its sale to Microsoft, to remain a solid platform for collaboration and a fantastic example of a fairly lightweight tool for project management. I often pointed out with no small amount of frustration that we could achieve pretty much everything we needed with GitHub, and it would be much quicker to use than Jira. Alas, this is no longer the case.

i dont like the youtube ai update (big surprise)
THIS IS THE INTERNET BITCH!!! you better take yo sensitive ass back to middle school!
In all seriousness, I am NOT entering my government issued ID to a company WHO SHOULDNT EVEN GET IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I get the angle of "protecting kids" but YOU as a PARENT should be responsible for what YOUR CHILD sees. Handing them an ipad and then being surprised when they learn what sex is at the ripe old age of 6 IS YOUR FAULT.
Turns out parenting practices hasn't really caught up with the rapid advance of technology in only 30 years! The solution isn't no screen time either because the main method of communication between friend groups and friends is over the internet. There is a healthy balance between screen-time and real-time, just like you have a healthy balance of less healthy food and healthy food. (Candy is good for you brain, and other things like vegetables are good for your body etc.)

Re: PLEASE STOP MAKING NEWS AGGREGATORS
I’m gonna joking this thread since I’ve been noticing the same thing. I’m not gonna rehash the issue since it’s been well articulated on the previous posts.
Antenna does have filter option but is not that intuitive to use. I’ve been using Cosmos more lately since it gives an option to see original content vs automated content.
It seems to me that that is a good compromise between letting people shape the smol web as they see fit and at the same time allowing people to pick what they want to consume is how Cosmos distinguishes between automated content and original content.
