What's to Come Regarding EPO Scandals and Latest UPC (Unitary Patent) Scandals

Summary: The EPO may think that it can grant millions of European software patents and then introduce kangaroo courts staffed by corporations which lobby for software patents; but wait and watch how scrutiny increases, shaming not just the EPO but unfortunately also the EU (which is implicated via the Unified Patent Court)

This coming weekend we have some internal EPO stuff to show, including some UPC scandals which continue to unfold (they keep delaying and delaying, seeing the growing trouble and the backlash). The above video focuses on the epo.org propaganda machine and its recent activity. As we shall show tomorrow and on Sunday, inside the EPO it's no picnic and there's likely to be political intervention some time soon because the EPO is completely off the rails.

It's a total embarrassment for Europe that EPO crimes have persisted for so long and totally unqualified people (like Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos) ended up on top of the institution, joined by their unqualified buddies, who barely know how patents work or how to operate a patent office. They run it like it's some store that manufactures and sells candy. EPO autocrats and Team UPC have been mooching off the EU's goodwill reputation for years; if this carries on, not only the EPO and the UPC will crumble. The EU is angering a lot of people who aren't "Eurosceptics" but observers of profound institutional corruption.
