THE big news about Julian Assange, dating about 16 days ago, was generally positive. His freedom was the goal, but at what cost? What was the price he was made to pay to save his life? We now have a recording of the court hearing which took place in Saipan and he pled guilty (admission of "guilt") to something that's quite routinary for journalism.
It's difficult to say anything negative about what happened (an unpopular opinion perhaps), but even Julian's wife says it. We have a lot of work to do and there's time left to get that done. Truth is Not a Crime. Do not punish people for making true statements. █
