Some Scheduled Maintenance Later Today
In six hours from now there will be work on the network. "During this time," we're told, the host "will be doing network maintenance to migrate one of our LINX connections to a new router. During this time, and afterwards, customers may notice traffic taking different paths to and from the Internet. No impact to customer service is expected, but due to the nature of the changes we're announcing this as an at risk period for the network.
Then, later in a day, there is work towards moving to new routers. To quote: "During this time we will be doing network maintenance to prepare for upcoming migration of Internet traffic to new routers. No customer impact is expected, but due to the nature of the configuration work we're announcing this as an at risk period for the network."
Typically the most vulnerable service during short interruptions is IRC. Let's see if it can endure the above. █
