EPO Cocainegate Escalates - Part V - Where Does the António Campinos 'Family Affair' Go From Here?
Do cocaine in public, get caught, take paid "sick leave", come back to lead Europe's second-largest organisation as if nothing ever happened. No "cocaine guilt". Nothing. Welcome to Europe!
The SUEPO meeting with Luis Berenguer Giménez's "brother-in-law" (this is what Campinos calls Luis Berenguer Giménez!) is about to have an elephant or two inside the room. It's about to start in half an hour and the president's girlfriend (sister of Luis Berenguer Giménez) won't attend.
In Part I, Part II, and Part III we explained what it's all about and in the previous part we focused on the president's girlfriend.
Based on our understanding and judging by reliable sources with a good track record, the reason this incestuous relationship is going on is, Mr. Campinos is once again pulling political strings to secure his controversial seat. He did this with Portugal and France, as he is a dual-national, but right now he could really use the political support of Spain (large EU member state with many EPO examiners) to obtain a third mandate as a President (highest role) at the EPO. And get this: if he gets a third mandate, which seems increasingly unlikely as we explained last year, it would mean French EPO presidents for a period of over 20 years since 2000! How's that boding for "diversity" and "ethics"?
We now understand, based on concrete and verifiable information (further affirmed what what we covered in the first and second parts), that Luis Berenguer Giménez, the cocaine user who is the "brother-in-law" of Campinos (according to Campinos, who dates his sister, see Part 4), has long had and continues to relish/revel in an unconditional, endless quotient of support from the President.
What sort of healthy institution would indulge in this? Or tolerate this level of abuse? What sort of institution has the EPO become and how can it lecture its staff on "ethics"? This is not limited to one person; it has been normalised and is now considered the "norm".
We understand that Campinos has already earned the wrath or pressure or scrutiny of some delegations in the Administrative Council. But not enough. That's why we need more people to contact their officials and demand that they justify voting for such an utter abomination.
To keep the Administrative Council or its pertinent delegations on his side (passive, uninterested, or generally calm... not "rocking the boat" to to speak) we understand that the "f---ing president" (that's how he refers to himself) told Luis Berenguer Giménez, his "brother-in-law", to sort of disappear for a while and pretend to be "ill" (we did a series about this several months ago; everything we said back then turned out to be accurate). The plan, dating back to wintertime, was to "memory-hole" Cocainegate, then let the "brother-in-law" quietly come back to another post at the Office (with the same salary and same advantages). So Campinos is enriching the drug addict, his "brother-in-law", making him a millionaire while disregarding the abuse directed at staff (the subject of a new series that we'll start very soon) and reputational harm caused to the entire Office - and by extension all its scientifically qualified employees.
EPO staff, which already engages in non-stop strikes, calls the managers (at the higher echelons) the "Mafia" or "Alicante Mafia". Alicante is where Campinos came from professionally (EUIPO) and where his "brother-in-law" came from as well (probably born there, like his father was, and the girlfriend of Campinos).
If you live in Europe and this is bothering you, then contact your officials today (preferably in their native language). █
