EPO staff, but it is also reaching the general public because it concerns many issues beyond the EPO and Microsoft. What we have at stake is
potential prosecution (
Benoît Battistelli and
António Campinos cannot claim not to know what they do), major fines, and even outright bans in Europe.
So far in the series we've had:
Following part 4, which we published some hours ago, I decided to add some
personal thoughts. My old concerns about the EPO (mostly
European software patents) have turned into something a lot broader. We need to discuss these issues and work towards tackling them.
