Microsoft's Latest Headcount Suggests Over 20,000 Laid Off Last Year (Net Loss)
LAST night we wrote about the disaster Microsoft is trying to distract from, mostly by using buzzwords like "clown computing".
Look closer.
The declines at Microsoft are considerable, as given the inflation rates it's like key areas (e.g. client) are down 20% this quarter. Ignore and disregard the buzzwords. Set aside the noise.
Well, based on official figures, Microsoft got rid of twice as many people as it publicly signalled last year.
"Hood also said that the company's headcount at quarter end was down about 2% from a year earlier," one Microsoft booster wrote only hours ago. That's despite taking over 13,000 staff from Activision + Blizzard.
Do the quick maths. Given absorption of Activision + Blizzard, or deducting it from the sum, Microsoft lost over 20,000 workers (net loss). So we were right all along. █
