Daniel Ellsberg Inspired Wikileaks and Edward Snowden
Also us.
Daniel Ellsberg left us over a year ago, almost exactly a year before the release of Julian Assange was secured (a week or so before takeoff to Thailand).
Ellsberg not only inspired the founder of Wikileaks. Edward Snowden learned from him. He also learned from a prior NSA whistleblower, Thomas Drake, and people before him (e.g. J. Kirk Wiebe). Edward Snowden was then protected by Assange's partner at the time - she'd pay for it by having to stay outside the UK for years after that [1, 2].
A lot of people sacrifice a lot for the public's "Right to Know". Few of them become known (most choose to keep their identity secret). How can society reciprocate? █
