Media Needs to Stop Asking If "AI" is Just Hype (It Is, It's Not a Question)
The media should stop asking if the "AI" thing is bubble about to pop. It's already popping, but some media is paid to spin it and hide that.
Here's a publisher that got paid to spend years pretending "AI" was a 'thing', i.e. pumping up a bubble.
Revenue is not profit: (just a reminder, as it's very easy to fake revenue if you have some money available for accounting 'games')
Many stories like the above this past summer. A lot of those companies are like pump-and-dump penny stocks; they take some old problem and say they solve it with "AI" (even if they do nothing different) to rope in gullible investors. Some of these investors sue having realised they've been lied to. Those investors won't see a penny because their money is gone already (into some personal bank accounts).
